Walk In Test Centres

My 18month old DD developed a fever, snotty nose and a small cough yesterday. Cough isn't very bad and the fever seems to have subsided over night but last night we booked her in for a test as obviously I don't want to risk sending her into nursery without knowing one way or another. It may just be a wee cold since she's just finished her first week at nursery and I expected a few illnesses.
We have an appt at a walk in centre fairly close to us and I was wondering if anyone has been to one and what it was like? Are they friendly? (Such a wet question but I get so anxious!)
I think I have to swab DD myself and was going to take her in her pram so she is somewhat restrained or should my DH come as well to hold her? The confirmation didn't say anything about the number of people going but I dont want us all to go if we don't have to!

I’ve just been to one. It was a white tent separated by bays. The staff were friendly enough. The test is a bit crap though. Lots of gagging and tears (mine). Your daughter will be okay. It isn’t scary and she’ll be with you. She might not like the swab though as it isn’t the most pleasant experience. Take a drink and a treat for after

I went to one this week and you wouldn't have got a pram through. I would both go and ask for advice when you get there, one will then be free to stay outside with the pram if needed.

The one I went to had loads of staff, all very clear what you had to do, no problems at all.

Are there any in West London or Surrey ?
