Where can I get a home test kit?

Currently at home with 2 DCs 5 and 3 who are presenting symptoms.
5 yo has a temperature and a cough.
3 yo has an awful cough, higher temp, runny nose, watery eyes - currently asleep but was really upset and tired before.

Just looked online on the gov website and there are no home kits available. I don't feel like I should be dragging my poorly upset 2yo out in his current condition to take him to a testing centre 45mins away.

I know it might just be a cold as school has said there's one going around with everyone being back at school but I know we have to be careful under the current circumstances.
5yo due back at school Monday and I'm unsure of what to do.

Is there anywhere I could buy home test kits?

Sorry second paragraph is supposed to say 3yo - just had his birthday and I'm still not used to it.

I think the home tests are released at 8am so you’ll need to check then. My friend had been trying the whole of the previous day and no home ones appeared until 8am the following morning. Good luck.

Don’t know about buying private ones.
If you can get a slot at a drive through test centre 45 mins away I’d take it. You usually get the results back quicker from test centres, DP got his results in 16hrs, whereas the postal ones can take a few days - got to be posted out to you then posted back - can’t see your eldest going back to school on Monday with a postal one.

Testing is not a pleasant experience BTW.

You have to Swab the back of the throat - which makes you gag and then swab up the nose. It really is horrible.

It might be easier to go to a testing centre and have someone with experience do your toddlers. You risk a null test.
