Just as the title states. I am full of cold, sore throat but no temp. I have coughed a few times, but it's not persistent. If I have to isolate and go for a test then can my dc go to school?? They have no symptoms.

I've had a snotty cold which is clearing away now. There were a few days where a couple of times a day I'd get a tickle in my throat from nasal drip, cough once or twice, and clear it with a drink and blowing my nose.
I didn't get tested, but did avoid going to indoor places like the supermarket.

It's interesting enough getting an autistic child back into school without additonal disruption by yo-yoing him in and out with unnecessary quarentines for a textbook cold out of hyper caution. Plus the system is overloaded by concern over back to school colds.

My area remains low risk at present. I have not been in close contact with others nor in indoor spaces and neither had my family. The chances of what appears to be a standard cold actually being a standard cold far outweighed the chances of it being Covid 19.

If it actually was a persistant cough with repeated bouts of coughing that would be a different situation and I would test. It is a bit of a grey area to define a cough, but the system is creaking under the strain of demand and people with a clearer need, needed access to testing more than me.

A parent in my hometown tested positive but has been sending their child into school this week. When the school were informed they did nothing so not too sure what the rules are regarding this.

The child should be home isolating for 14 days

No, of course not. Hmm

My dickhead unwell brother has sent his child off to Freshers week without even having a test - as the doctor thought it 'probably' wasn't Covid. Stupid doesn't cover it.
