Ideas for things to do stuck indoors for 2 weeks

Just musing. Both my kids (4 and 8) are back at school, DH is back going into the office 2-3 days a week. At some point this winter, maybe multiple times I'm sure someone in either of their bubbles will test positive, or one of the four of us will develop symptoms that require us to isolate until we get a test (or longer if positive). This feels a different beast to what we did in the spring when the weather was fine and it was a novel experience. I'm trying to think of ideas for entertainment, esp if the weather is terrible. So far I've got:

  1. tog up and go out into the garden anyway
  2. play with some of their millions of toys
  3. buy Disney+ for a month. Watch a lot of films.
  4. have bought some new games for the WIi
  5. keep plenty of baking ingredients in the house
  6. make sure 8 year old has new books to read

That's it. Anyone else?

Unless it falls at half term, I'll be setting work for my class to do, either with a supply teacher babysitting them or them home learning too if we've all been sent home.

Have a look for kitchen science experiments and get the kit in to do them. Exploding stuff with vinegar keeps kids entertained nicely. Lots of cooking and baking generally. We bought one of those mini exercise trampolines in lockdown as we don’t have room for a garden one. Lots of free exercise videos on YouTube or you can just bounce. Jigsaw puzzles. Board games.

Board games
Puzzles
Science experiments
Making Christmas cards/Christmas baubles etc
Lego challenges
Colouring/work books/crafts
Cheap keyboard and learn to play (if you are able to teach them?)
Sewing kit, maybe make an outfit for teddy bears

Yes good point thanks. Which is why I'm not including homeschool resources in my plan particularly. Though based on our experiences in the spring/summer I wouldn't expect schools provision to take up much time - certainly not all waking hours :)

Plus if it's only is isolating (say if DH tests positive) then I wouldn't expect anything from school.

Kids would love a mini trampoline - we also don't really have room in the garden.

Christmas related crafts would be nice too.

Keyboard is a bit out there! DS would love it and I could definitely teach him...
