Covid

Anyone know when to check the site for test slots?

Daughter has been sent home from nursery today with a temperature.

Fairly sure she doesn't have "it", but won't take her back without a test. Fine.

Except I can't get a bloody test.... no postal tests available and not testing slots available at all. Not even miles away.

I've been told "keep trying" by the helpline - erm, ok! Anyone what the deal is? Is there times when they tend to release more slots? When should I set an alarm for to remind me to check (I have other stuff to do, I keep forgetting!).

Any help welcomed! Seems a Covid test is the hottest ticket in town all of a sudden?!
@GetUpAgain damn. I was hoping we could put in a postcode 400 miles away and the system would then offer you something next door Grin
Me too! I even tried from Downing Street and zilch. Hmm maybe will try Barnard Castle next. So annoying.

I've kept trying and still no luck. My DH work have told him he needs to have a test ASAP before he can go back, but he's not the one with symptoms - can we even get a test in this case for him? I mean, I can't even get a test for DS with symptoms at the moment!

I had the same @vixb1 a walk thru I had to drive to. I parked on the street nearby. It was very well organised. And I got my results back in 32 hours. That was this week in a local lockdown area.

I just kept trying every 15/20 minutes or so and got a home test after about 15 tries.

I wonder if we're in the same area, I'm also in local lockdown!

I've been this morning. It was fine. The baby who'd been sent home from nursery poorly and has been crying all morning because she doesn't feel well was all beaming smiles and waves for the Covid testing staff. She's such a faker!
