My Dd is in a team and is so looking forward to the season starting. With the new rules from Monday I am wondering if they can still play.

Yes because its an organised sporting activity......at least that's what I'm hoping anyway

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 10/09/2020 12:26

Sport teams are Exempt from the six rule.

Doseydots · 10/09/2020 12:30

Ah thank goodness for that

Dd is playing rugby, sport is allowed

The majority of organised activities that have risk assessments anyway are fine to continue.

Yes, but if they are following the guidelines properly parents should be told to go home while they are playing and not watch.

Yes, but if they are following the guidelines properly parents should be told to go home while they are playing and not watch.
Parents can watch and are required to for child protection reasons, but they will have to socially distance from other parents.

@RedRumTheHorse
That is certainly not the guidance in the sport I am closest to where clubs have been told by the national governing body to tell parents that they won't be able to watch their children train or play, although as this is an indoor sport I suppose the rules could be different.

Yes everything sport-related can continue as normal.

It's probably better not to have lots of spectators, especially indoors.

Grassroots football coaches have been told not to administer minor first aid and to only have close contact for limb or life type injurys so parents have been told to be on hand for the minor stuff, this may now be at odds with the amount of people spectating and possibly the fa are looking at it?

An 11 v 11 game plus subs plus coaches plus spectators at a popular game 22×10+6 +roughly 30= around 70 people at a match and they often follow with another match and I believe 8000 teams across the country so lots of people still gathering but as said organised and covid secure so going ahead as it stands.
