Should I get tested?

Morning, I've looked up the symptoms on NHS site but my husband and I both work in a hospital and was wondering if we needed to be tested

I have a very sore throat (blood vessels inflamed), I fed run down and although I don't have a high temp, last night I was waking up every so often sweating

20 month old is quite fractious and has a runny snotty nose and is being quite quiet or an absolute nightmare (I know nothing unusual for a toddler lol)

Husband is fine at the moment

I don't want to waste tests/time but does anyone think we should test or just leave it to see if it's a cold

If it’s not listed as one of the 3 symptoms to test for then I wouldn’t.
Especially as there has been so much talk lately about people testing without any of the 3 symptoms listed by the NHS

If you both work for the hospital, are you not tested anyway?

Pumpernickle12 · 10/09/2020 10:36

That's my query as it used to be a sore throat (I think but not now) but we both work in an environment which has COVID and vulnerable people so didn't want to be a "spreader" if we had

I think il wait and see how it develops and keep calm and just eat ice cream lol

Yeah we have access if we need to but they stopped the regular testing a whole ago

We still getting tested weekly, work in a care home.

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/09/2020 10:38

I would ask them to test, if you have access.

1happyhippie · 10/09/2020 10:39

Didn’t realise they had stopped regular testing @Pumpernickle12

I also work in a carehome and we are still tested weekly.

AriettyHomily · 10/09/2020 10:39

Ask them what they want you to do would be the obvious course of action.

caoixr · 10/09/2020 10:42

Wow that is shocking that they have stopped regular testing of NHS staff. That was one of the main ways it killed so many vulnerable people.

Motorina · 10/09/2020 10:43

Given you work in a hospital, I would ask your line manager.

Pumpernickle12 · 10/09/2020 10:46

Ta thanks guys

Surely sweating in the night indicates that you have had a temperature?
