He is in reception, first week

No fever but he is phlegmy and has a snotty nose

I would have kept him off nursery but know school is stricter, what do I do?

School would send him home. I have a friend with a child just started reception. Child has just a cold, no cough. They were sent home from school and can't go back until they have been tested.
I don't know how schools are going to go on through the winter when most children come down with cold.

If he is in reception he isnt compulsory until term after 5 so doesnt have to be there anyway. (Unless he started at compulsory school age because of being summer born).

Keep him home and test please.

Right choice OP. School won’t be bothered, hopefully you can get tested and get negative within a couple of days

Paranoidmarvin · 10/09/2020 09:06

Best of luck getting a test. I can’t get one anywhere. Not sure what I do now to be honest. My husbands work have been fine. Mine have not

Problems seem to be regional. Was offered 4 sites, same day within 10 miles just last week (North West). May be different now of course.

(It would really help me, with very vulnerable loved ones, to do an antibody test. Has anyone used the Superdrug service?)

Sounds like he is too ill for school anyway, covid or not.
