I had flu at uni, my flatmates in halls (who I'd met the weekend before) looked after me in the days I couldn't get out of bed. There was no suggestion of my parents coming to get me, we kept in contact by text. My mom has since told me she was really worried and almost drove to me a couple of times but she wanted me to learn to become independent. I think this was the right approach, and agree if you are old enough to live away from home, you are old enough to look after yourself when you are unwell.

'Dilly', yes but your friends and the other 1998 students with you weren't ill too or in isolation ( so not able to go shopping for food)

I think much like if someone opts to holiday they accept the risks, students and by default, their parents, are taking this covid risk.
I hope that we will see similar to Scotland.
Students have been advised how to conduct themselves, if they fail to abide, this is the consequence.
