There's a lot of theads on here where people are getting tested with just cold symptoms. Wonder if this is a trend nationally?

@Cornettoninja

Oh and they’ve dropped a bollock blaming the public. It might have an element of truth but it goes down like a cup of cold sick. They should have picked on a specific group for us all to hate on together (from a PR perspective).
They've done that with blaming young people for the increase in cases already!

Is anyone trying to get a test now? Do you get the “this service is currently very busy” message with no other options?

The nursery that my toddler is at wants children to get a negative test before they are allowed in with a runny nose... I wish I wasn’t being serious. 😐

It's been like that for the best part of 48 hours

@IKEA888

Plus all workers in old people's homes are tested routinely.. could be wrong but x2 a week and use these slots too.
I am tested every week or two in a care home for clients with learning difficulties

@Mypathtriedtokillme

Since a portion of cases as asymptotic surely you want to test as many people as possible with it without symptoms.

I’m in NSW, AUS and were advised by our GP to go get our DD tested who just had symptoms of conjunctivitis. (Phone appointment with GP)

We are also advised to get tested for any if the below symptoms as well as oncemore list:
fatigue
runny nose
muscle pain
joint pain
headache
diarrhoea
nausea/vomiting
loss of appetite

^this. We have one of the shortest lists of symptoms to be tested for in the UK . We need to increase the symptom list and capacity. Routine testing for care home and nhs staff is very important too.

Here is literally any symptom no matter how mild. They want as many tested as possible to shut down the level community transmission we have.
If you are in a identified as a close contact of a case then you have to self isolate for 14 days even if you have a negative test.
