Do you actually have to show school evidence of a negative test?

Just something that's occurred to me as I've been reading threads about people struggling to book tests for their children.

Do parents have to show actual evidence of a negative test to schools if they request it? Or is it enough to just say they've got the results back?

My understanding is that you would need to show evidence but it may depend on the school.

Guidelines state schools can’t ask for a negative test result. Must rely on honesty of parents.

"Schools should not request evidence of negative test results or other medical evidence before admitting children or welcoming them back after a period of self-isolation."

See here, under "9. Manage confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) amongst the school community"
