What do local restrictions actually look like?

I'm in the North East and it's looking increasingly likely that local restrictions will happen sooner rather than later

I've read all the guidance but what's it like in reality?

Ds is usually picked up from school by 2 sets of grandparents (mine live 5 minutes walk, in laws in the next city)

We live in Sunderland but both work in Newcastle. Wonder what travel restrictions will look like (use a mixture of car, metro and lifts depending upon our working patterns)

Are supermarkets mad again?

Here in Greater Manchester, basically if it requires you to spend money, it is allowed, not otherwise, so grandparents could not pick your child up from school but you could pay a nanny, childminder or after-school club.
Buses and trains allowed with masks because money. Visiting a friend or family member at 2 m distance in their garden is not allowed because no money.
There is a theory that being in the same room as a card reader protects against catching the virus!

I'm in Manchester. Life is exactly the same as without restrictions except I can't get my face done in a beauty salon lmao

Not quite true. I can't visit my nephews and I am missiñgvthem sooo much. I have done some socially distanced park visits but it isn't the same!
