No temperature?

I know these type of threads are annoying but I struggle with health anxiety so I could really do with the opinions of people without health anxiety!

Dd has complained of a tummy ache today and then has come home very pale, went a bit weird and weepy, and then she was sick (2 hours ago). Her temperature is normal and she’s behaving completely normally now. She has a cough that began yesterday BUT we have had a massive clean of our house which mean there was dust everywhere (I’m talking a mild hoarder house getting completely cleared) which coincided with the start of the cough. She also says she has a headache and her legs hurt.

Does this mean we need to tell school and get the COVID test done? Everything I read says FEVER TEMPERATURE and she is completely fine in that respect. She is not hot at all.

I feel stupid asking but I have overreacted about health stuff in the past and I’m aware that our school hasn’t had anyone trigger any panic yet and I really don’t want it to be me for no reason. But is there reason? I don’t know.

Be as blunt as you like, I just need advice!

Get a test. Please. You need to isolate her anyway because she's been sick so you may as well.

Is she still coughing?

I would for the cough, you don't need all 3 of the symptoms just one.

Treesofwood · 07/09/2020 19:00

If she has a cough school won't acceot her and you all get to isolate for 2 weeks unless she gets a negative test.

StatisticalSense · 07/09/2020 19:08

She had a cough that started yesterday but yet you sent her to school today?
This is exactly why the country is screwed and schools will lead to masses of transmission that could have been prevented.

freddiethegreat · 07/09/2020 19:11

Most schools already have people out self isolating or getting tests. There will be no panic or even concern - might be a little more if you get a positive result, but even then, schools have their procedures sorted.

Stripedarmchair · 07/09/2020 19:15

Thank you very much for the replies! I will keep her off and get tested.

@StatisticalSense I know and I feel absolutely ridiculous for not even realising. There’s no excuse so I won’t even try to defend it.

She's unwell and also has a cough. Get her tested and keep her off school until you get the result. It's pretty straightforward really.
