So I’ve seen a lot of threads that are American about buying ozone/UVC light and timers and using them when not in the room. I know schools are using them on robots etc.

Anyone bought one or got any recommendations? We need to stay/move around places so looking to use one in accommodation or hire cars etc.

My dd works in Home Bargains and they have a UVC disinfection oil diffuser for £9.99. They also have a UVC light stick.

Thanks, there’s loads on Amazon but I dont trust that they do what they say, don’t want to use something that’s a gimmick so looking to buy something that people have recommendations for or testing knowledge

In order to work properly you need to expose viruses and bacteria to a sufficient concentration of light for a certain period of time. So for example, when used on a water supply the water will be fed past the light in a controlled manner. The light is also extremely dangerous to your eyes and can cause permanent damage and blindness.
Using a UV-C bulb in a room in your house will have little to no effect. The concentration will be too low and the light won't permeate everywhere. The underside of a remote control for example.
It's just a scam, I'm sorry.
Ventilating the space by opening windows will be more effective, as will maintaining a higher humidity (between 40-60%). This stops the virus carrying as far in the air and chemical reactions will cause it to break down more quickly.
Dry misting hydrogen peroxide also works to destroy the virus, but this should be fine by a professional company.

This is not a genuine thing to do

I use UVC disinfection in hospitals and the size of the robots and number of bulbs needed would just not be feasible in a domestic setting. Some of our machines are over 100kg. They also need a sealed room and several cycles in different positions. No way would I trust anything portable, sorry.
