First day out. Is there even a pandemic?!

I gave birth to my first baby in March.

I've been diagnosed with anxiety and I've found this pandemic really though.

I've been having some CBT to help me combat things.

Today was a big thing for me as we booked tickets to go to the zoo.

I figured being outside I'd feel safe .

I've not been to any big public places since the birth of my baby (I've been to parks etc) so I've been feeling like I really should get out.

We booked to arrive at 8am hoping it would be on the quieter side! I was wrong!!

It was so busy! ☹️

Signs everywhere staying social distancing.
Asking people to stick to the left on all walkways, one way systems in place.

No one paid any attention!!! A few people, myself included, stayed to the left on the walk ways and obeyed the one way system. But i don't know why we bothered as no one else did.

It was just like a normal day. Now I know I haven't been out much so maybe this is the norm now that people don't feel the need to distance. But I could only manage to stay an hour before we had to leave. 😔

Feeling so disappointed in myself.

People have really relaxed on it.

It's been warm and, numbers dropping etc.

Many many people have no sense of self awareness! Before covid!
Ie coming into personal space, standing close behind in queues etc.

I just hope, as a society we can get back into sd now colder weather hitting. All these outbreaks in food factories!

Op, its a shame you went to the zoo, I can imagine it was extremely busy!

I've found going out later 3, 4 etc has always worked... Thinner crowds wherever we go... Parks, picnic.. Try that. Getting out in sun and fresh air, change of scene is vital as we get to winter.

It may be great for you, but it's not good for museums. I foresee closure of museums, theatres, libraries etc leading to even more dumbing down of society.

This is a very useful resource
www.covidmessenger.com/about/
You can sign up to get emails about the number of COVID cases in a number of postcode areas. I’ve signed up to where I live, where I work, and the main areas my students come from. I see that today three areas have no new cases, but in the other two, there are new cases.

You have rather thrown yourself in at the deep end there with going straight to a zoo! Maybe start out with going out to the park, taking walks in the countryside, a meal in a pub garden, meeting a friend outside a cafe, etc. All much less stressful and crowded than a zoo.

This was also my first reaction - a zoo on a bank holiday weekend!

But yes people are stupid and are incapable to following straight-forward signage.

And they are still walking along staring at mobile phone screens.
