Wish I wasn't a teacher because of Covid

In my family/friends circle, I am the only one who will be face to face with 150+ people per day with no PPE, no social distancing, nothing.

I have one relative who is not expecting to return to the office this year.
Another who now only works in the office two days per week, in a building where numbers are severely restricted, one way systems, spaced out desks etc.
Another friend who is also able to wfh for the foreseeable future.

I can't help but think that had I made a different career choice I would not now be faced with contracting a potentially life threatening virus and passing it on to my clinically extremely vulnerable husband or elderly parents.

I will go to work and try to ignore what's going on in the world and do my best. But I wish I could be made to feel safer - screens, masks, fewer pupils, something.

I hope I'm worrying for nothing, but it is getting difficult to sleep at night.

@Flaxmeadow

We have all SEEN (and been the object of) the toxic quotes that Jupp has pasted

The share them with
The posters name
The page
The time stamp

I’m sure Miles will hop to doing a bunch of work you don’t give a shit about just to keep her occupied and not updating her list.

At the same time as getting teachers on the back foot and defensive.

Whyohwhyohwhy are people so bad at this? It’s like watching My First Internet Trolling Session.

CallmeAngelina · 31/08/2020 22:09

It's just a stream of mixed quotes, supposedly from a number off other posters, all jumbled up with misquotes and their own opinion.
The posts dont even have paragraphs

So what? This isn't a court of fucking law.
The POINT of Jupp consolidating them all into one post in the way she has, is to highlight (as if it were needed) the absolute toxic bile that teachers on here are subjected to day after day after day.
And then you come along and try to make out she is lying in some way?
It's just more of the same shit we are all sick to the back teeth of.

noblegiraffe · 31/08/2020 22:09

@Mistressiggi

Once teachers get a few weeks back into it they'll wonder what all the fuss had been about. I'm three weeks back in, and have had my first Covid test (thankfully negative). My worries are increasing not decreasing.
Flowers where Scotland goes, England follows so let’s all hope for some sensible decisions from Nicola.
Shitfuckoh · 31/08/2020 22:11

@stairway

I stand by everything I said as well. Have a nice week back at school dear teachers, may you remain free of covid :)
You can tidy it up with a nice little bow but fakeness is still shit.
Shitfuckoh · 31/08/2020 22:15

Just to say though, I do hope all the teachers returning to school in the UK (and all those have had already turned) do enjoy their first week back. Despite the shitty situation they have been thrown in to, with no protective measures at all and guidance that may as well be toilet paper - I hope you all have a positive week back & please do remember, not all us parents have such a negative opinion of you.
Some of us are & will continue to support you and I'll try to ensure my little darlings pay as much attention as possible

Shitfuckoh · 31/08/2020 22:17

Supposed to say (and all those that have already returned)

noblegiraffe · 31/08/2020 22:18

Thanks, shitfuckoh! Your support is appreciated!

I'm not the only poster on this thread who has commented on the confusing text of MilesJuppIsMyBitch posts

It's easy to put quotation mark's on a post in 32 page thread with no
No paragraphs
No naming or separating of the poster/posters supposedly being quoted
No time stamps etc
When asked to provide it, or at least begin to provide it, she refused

We don't even know who is supposed to have said it, or if it's even from this thread because in one of MileJuppIsMyBitch's posts she says she is quoting from other threads. Is it one person being quoted or ten. Is it from page 1 or page 32 or an entirely differnt thread. Who knows Confused

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2020 22:21

If you don't like it leave

Here you are : went to page 27 and found this one. Not fair to name the poster as they have left the thread.

I'm no fan but she's made some good decisions in general. First to introduce mask wearing in shops etc and first to open schools and open them during the holidays

CallmeAngelina · 31/08/2020 22:24

Flaxmeadow Mon 31-Aug-20 22:20:17 (that OK? Hmm)
"Who knows?"

Who CARES? It's irrelevant. I, for one, remember virtually every quote she lists.

CallmeAngelina · 31/08/2020 22:28

Oh look, here's another one:

Back50 Thu 27-Aug-20 21:46:51
Exactly, children have suffered the most throughout all this and if you (teachers) can't see that then maybe you should take up a different career

You can do the rest yourself.

Flaxmeadow · 31/08/2020 22:28

Here you are : went to page 27 and found this one. Not fair to name the poster as they have left the thread

As I said, she uses a mixture of quotes and her own opinions. Sometimes in ( ) sometimes not, but all are in quotation Mark's . If you're going to accuse someone of making mean remarks, you need to make the quoted text easy to find. Either by it being a recent post, same page for example, or name the person you are quoting. You should also separate by each person you are quoting. For example, start another paragraph with the persons name

But none of that. Nothing to follow the conversation.

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2020 22:30

flax these are literally not rules. Etiquette maybe.

I like to think of jupp as the James Joyce of MN.

CallmeAngelina · 31/08/2020 22:32

WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER?
Take your nit-picking to Pedants' Corner.

Shitfuckoh · 31/08/2020 22:33

@Flaxmeadow

Or you could just read what she's put.
Does it matter who said it? Some of the comments are absolutely disgusting.
I don't know what you were taught but we were taught to have respect.
All I've seen on here recently is teachers being pulled apart, mocked, called work shy and basically told to give up their job (that is keeping a roof over their DC head) if they aren't happy about being put in to a situation where they feel unsafe.

I don't know if I want to try to understand people with this mindset or not. It really is mindblowing to see people with such contempt.
Take this thread for example. The OP started this thread for support & understanding. If you can't offer that, then what?

Flaxmeadow · 31/08/2020 22:34

Who CARES? It's irrelevant. I, for one, remember virtually every quote she lists.

As I keep saying Hmm

It's a mixture of real quotes, misquotes and her own opinion. But all are in quotation marks. Which is confusing and hard to find isnt it?

It matters because other posters are being accused of things they haven't said but she refuses to name them, separate their posts or give a page or time stamp. So there you go

noblegiraffe · 31/08/2020 22:34

Flax is on the windup.

Flaxmeadow · 31/08/2020 22:36

Some of the comments are absolutely disgusting

But some of them are not real quotes. They are an interpretation of what she thinks someone meant.

Flaxmeadow · 31/08/2020 22:37

Flax is on the windup

Not me whose on the wind up

CallmeAngelina · 31/08/2020 22:38

Sleep well, Flax.
I'm done here.

Shitfuckoh · 31/08/2020 22:39

But they are quotes, that's why she's put them in the quotation marks you've taken objection to?

noblegiraffe · 31/08/2020 22:40

@Flaxmeadow

Flax is on the windup

Not me whose on the wind up

100% are. People stopped engaging with you about supermarkets so you’re trying something different.

How sad.

If the list of comments offends you in its construction, Flax, then I suggest you just leave the thread. I've left threads for less!
