Do we need public service programmes on tv?

I'm usually totally against nannying people but do you think it would be a good idea to have short programmes on tv encouraging people to behave responsibly?
First on the list should be

If two people are on a pavement walking towards a single person, the couple should fall into single file to allow the other person to pass.
I've lost count of the number of times I've been forced off the pavement and into traffic because couples don't practice this and I don't want to get too close.

@PumbaasCucumbas

Anyone else noticed that all the radio Covid government things have people with really heavy regional accents.... also the tv ad about going back to the shops etc had no masks in the ad at all?

Maybe a 10 minute weekly update after the news or something? Just to remind us where we’re at with it all and if any rule changes (u-turns) since last week.

Yes I had also noticed that. They're also very forced. "Here's Jim, he's a delivery driver"

OP nobody will watch the announcements - I can't remember the last time I watched a TV advert as everything is on demand, or I fast forward through them, mute them or talk through them.

There could be some funding of documentaries on streaming platforms and video hosting services. Then people can choose to watch them if they wish.
Some on free to air TV maybe appropriate and on radio.

We already get adverts.

It is up to the individual if they watch/listen to something.

Problem though, they keep changing the goal posts. So anything made would be out of date by the time it aired.
