There will not be a full school year this year. Which is what it is. Just wish this would be directly addressed as there is sweet FA I can do anything about the kids going to school if their schools close for whatever reason. The silence on what parents, employers, children are to expect if/when going to school is removed is deafening.

X3 schools in Scotland already affected and disrupted and Scotland seem to have a much better handle on infections than below the border.

Anyway I guess I just need to muster up some back to school joy for them.

I'm being positive for my children because I know they need to be in school as much as they possibly can - for the education and the social aspect.
The news regarding Scottish schools (esp the Dundee school due to my DC attending a special school) does make me nervous though.

Preparing for a disruptive term ahead, especially as 1 of our schools have said children to stay home if symptoms of cold etc - which I can kind of understand but that's usually October-March!

I'm trying to be positive but it is a worry. I'll be walking DS to school and back to avoid him getting the (packed double decker) bus. He's autistic and can't get there safely without supervision.

We spent £300+ on the uniform that (as of today) isn't entirely necessary. Blazers, jumpers and ties are optional. Full PE kit isn't needed.

They'll be sent home if they have a cough, which makes sense, but we're soon to be in cold/flu season, and after months of being at home I'd be surprised if there's a child who doesn't catch a cold.

We're lucky to get by reasonably okay-ish on my partner's salary. His job is somewhat secure (for now). The stress of the unknown is really weighing on me right now, though.
