At the moment it feels like this is it for the foreseeable future. I realise I am luckier than most so this is a grumble, not a disaster

I know things like Theatres etc still closed but I'm not too sure there is actually much left to ease?

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 17:12

Family gatherings indoors.
AFAIK it's still just two households inside. We'd regularly meet up with family, with maybe 3 or 4 households.
That's what I miss

Oh goodness, I forgot about that! I'm so used to just meeting outdoors at the moment that it totally slipped my mind. The weather will be starting to turn soon so outdoors will be an issue Sad

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 17:21

Thats what I'm worried about,, that people will just accept this, it's normal now. I don't want that but can't see any way it's going to change since the government seem to have abdicated all responsibility for anything but not actually told anyone.

They're looking at October for any more restrictions to be released and that will be dependant on how well school reopening is going

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 17:27

Thank you, that's reassuring, although didn't it have to be every three weeks?
I can cope with October, definitely

Is no one else finding this a problem?

I'm in Leicester, we still can't have anyone round to the house, leisure centres and gyms have never opened since March and city playgrounds are still closed for children.

While I sympathise that you're frustrated by the lack of review, I can't get that het up about anywhere outside a lockdown zone which has pretty much everything open.

Kids are back to school here on wednesday so summer holidays are over and many haven't even been able to play on a slide.

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 19:40

Yes I get that and that's why I said mine were grumbles only. I hope things improve.however I don't want more stuff to open. I don't care that the majority of stuff is open although I am pleased about what that means for jobs. I want normal, mundane life to resume an dig isn't any time soon as far as I can see

I don’t think they have a date for review and very unlikely to relax the social meeting rules given the greatest transmission is indoors, schools are opening and cases are up in a lot of places. More likely if cases rose they will enforce stricter rules and not allow any social gatherings indoors at all throughout winter.

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 21:49

So don't they have a duty, as they did at the beginning to regularly review the restrictions imposed on us?

They probably are reviewing regularly (you would like to think but who the fuck knows with these clowns) but not reporting unless there is a change.
waitforitwaitforit · 23/08/2020 21:56

They're reviewing every three weeks in Scotland so they presumably will be in the rest of the UK.

Cloudburstagain · 23/08/2020 22:00

Frustratingly many people do not see, to follow the guidelines from all the photos I have seen on social media.

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2020 22:01

Scientist I hope so. And in fairness maybe they are reporting somewhere. But back in May and June the time lines for reviews were clear and the outcomes dissected by the media. Now most of us don't even know if they're happening.

OP posts:
Littlebelina · 23/08/2020 22:07

They changed the period from 3 weeks to 4 weeks in June

I'm assuming they still review regularly (or hope they do) but only tell us when things change

StealthPolarBear · 24/08/2020 06:28

That rings a bell thanks. I hope so. It would be nice if they kept us updated on the reviews even if nothing changes, as they have done in the past.

Family gatherings without social distancing! So many grandchildren havent been allowed to hug grandparents for 5 months! And for many this means not seeing them at all because they're too small to understand why they're not allowed a hug. It's criminal really. Even if they could just remove social distancing for under 12s like they have in scotland, it would make it easier.
