Do I have to cancel my holiday?

I had a sore throat on Saturday and was told by the ZOE app to get a test. Ordered it on Sat, arrived Sunday so had to do the test on Monday. It's still not back. I just called 119 and they are going to chase my results and get back to me by the end of the day.

The problem is, I'm meant to be going on holiday (UK) tomorrow. Its in a friend's self-catering property next to their house but the plan was to have meals etc with them. My family would be heartbroken if we had to cancel. We're going to have to aren't we?

I am completely better and think its really unlikely it was covid as we have only left the house for exercise. Get shopping etc delivered and are really careful about deliveries/hygiene etc.

So fed up with the testing system that they can't get their act together and have now ruined the only holiday we would have had this year.

I would go but if you want to be extra cautious isolate yourself until the result comes back.
That said sore throat does not mean you probably have covid. It’s extremely unlikely that you do.

@Abraid2 I think if you answer no to the question about access to a car or can you should get the option of a home test kit

Imagine getting there and you get the text that your test is positive.
I'd not go.
