Any positives here? We're you asymptomatic?

Anyone here test positive for the virus and we're you asymptomatic?

I'm just wondering how asymptomatic spread occurs if there's no symptoms like a cough, how does the body fluids of an infected person gets expelled to infect someone else?

I read online forums and there's a lot of people with no experience of the virus saying that asymptomatic spread is occurring. I'm thinking maybe some people are jot doing their civil duty and isolating themselves and keeping their contacts low if they have any symptoms.

A family member has tested positive for antibodies but the only symptom that could have been covid was a loss of sense of taste. This was before it was recognised symptom. They work with covid patients so almost certainly caught it at work but they don't know if they spread it to others. None of their immediate family had symptoms and 2 children were in school throughout lockdown with no cases linked to the school.

Cousins family had in (Birmingham)
2 adults and 2 kids
Mum - like the flu, a week in bed, high temp etc and then fatigue for about a month
Dad and DS just loss of taste and smell. No other symptoms. Although dad still has no taste or smell.
DD just a temp for 24 hours

They were tested positive due to the jobs they parents do.

Hay fever, drink goes down the wrong way, random bit of spit, moist talkers, rubs eye/nose/mouth and touches something, laughs/shouts. There's a thousands ways our bodily fluids get around. I sneeze when I eat peppermint.

I tested positive with no symptoms whatsoever. I am almost sure I know where I picked it up from (colleague). None of my immediate family or other colleagues caught it (I was working throughout although with social distancing and additional cleaning in place.

My friends dad was totally asymptomatic. He was only tested after he was in contact with a positive case. He didn't pass it to his wife who was shielding, or if he did she was asymptomatic too

Following with interest.Awaiting test results any moment.I had metallic taste and loss of taste and diminished sense of smell. Also a prickly heat type rash and a sunburn feeling on my sternum.
I would be surprised.if I'm positive but reading on here perhaps not!!
The guilt is real though disrupting work for myself and dh not to mention the loss of income.

Yes, I was completely asymptomatic .

whatisforteamum · 20/08/2020 13:46

Surely that was a shock gluestick80?

I have had 3x positive antibody tests but no symptoms. NHS ICU nurse and I’m fairly sure I caught it from work, although who knows really.

Ponoka7 · 20/08/2020 16:11

My friend was asymptomatic. She found out that she'd had it via an NHS antibody test.

I had orange wee and a body rash, which we now know is a symptom in 45+ year olds. My DD (22) was really ill with it and I only tested because she was laid out with it.

We breathe out the virus and it lingers in the air and on surfaces, just like other viruses. If you think of chicken pox, there's no cough etc.

Gluestick80 · 20/08/2020 16:40

Yes I was very shocked. I work in a nursing home so assumed I’d picked it up from work.

Bol87 · 20/08/2020 21:56

My Aunty. She’s a nurse. Zero symptoms, tested via work routinely. Had a nice 7 days ‘sick’ during a hot weather week. She felt so guilty just enjoying the weather and having a rest when she felt fine! Especially knowing how much some people suffer as well.. it’s a strange old beast.
