What are you doing about socialising in autumn/winter?

I have just about been coping with lockdown so far and have been socialising in small groups in gardens or parks. However with autumn getting closer I’m wondering how this will be possible in the bad weather and am dreading months of not being able to socialise. What are you planning on doing? Any good suggestions?

I won't be socialising in a freezing, soggy garden. I'll just invite a few friends over at a time for dinner and drinks inside.

I think that the OP is trying to work within the current england guidelines

But you can have another household to visit indoors within the guidelines? Unless I've misunderstood.

You’re absolutely right honey

But you just said ‘a few friends’ so i assumed that your friends weren’t all in the ame house hold

And ya know what hapoens when you assume 😀

If you only meant another household then of course thats within the rules...it would be quite nice if they said 3 households though

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 20/08/2020 11:03

Ame is same..l

Rufus, thankfully all our friends are either in couples (and we love hanging out with them both) or they have kids or there's a few in house shares. So it works out quite nicely!

OP - could you start looking now at investing in some decent wellies and a waterproof winter coat? I've just bought myself a very waterproof, warm coat as I predict lots of rainy walks this winter and queuing for the shops. That could be a nice way to meet up with friends and family.

See i differ slightly honey in that although we do have couple friends i have a lot of non-couple friends (you know what i mean) that i would usually see during the day as opposed to evening or weekends

And it would be quite nice to see both sally and sharon together, but obviously thats three households 😩

I will be going for lots of walks with friends.

I would happily have friends (one at a time) for coffee or wine here but they’re all very cautious and don’t want to.
