Vomiting & Diarrhoea - no temp

He's clammy though, as a result of multiple vomiting episodes. He's 17. Do I get him tested? The NHS Inform website suggests no.

Not been in contact with anyone, and I do mean anyone since returning to school on Friday last week.

I would get him tested if you can. It's well established that the symptoms of Covid-19 are much more varied than those listed by the NHS as warranting a test. The Zoe app study has found that diarrhoea and vomiting can both be symptoms of Covid, albeit not the most common symptoms.

Thanks @LilyPond2. I do think a test is what's needed but when you go through the form (as I think you must do to get a test) there's no mention of D&V.

It is a symptom that is asked about when you are traced if you have come into contact with a positive case (family member was traced) so I would definitely test.

HoneyBee03 · 18/08/2020 23:03

I wouldn't test with those symptoms, maybe he has eaten something that doesn't agree with him.

oceanbreezy · 18/08/2020 23:05

Yes I would test unless you know he’s eaten something dodgy

AugustBreeze · 18/08/2020 23:13

You can book a test online even if you answer No to the "Have you got one of the main symptoms?" question.

LizzieMacQueen · 18/08/2020 23:56

Can you @AugustBreeze. Okay I'll do that tomorrow. Thanks all.

How is he @LizzieMacQueen ?

LizzieMacQueen · 21/08/2020 23:02

Thanks for asking. Test came back negative. He's now had an online GP appointment and they are looking at other things, anaemia and anxiety.
