Would cooking a pizza at 180c for 10 minutes kill off covid?

You will be fine. I ate pizza straight out of a dominos box a few hours before I went into labour in may.

Im with you!
Who stacked the pizza on the shelf? Put it through the checkout- who made it in the first place, there is usually human interaction even on machine produced food. Gah- I hope the heat killed any potential germs including bogies, bum germs etc etc. Confused

Oh OP I agree. An awful time to be pregnant with health anxiety. It’ll be fine. Really. Flowers

Thanks everyone for some of the comments... It's fine I get why people think it's funny as it is a strange thing to ask lol.... But I genuinely have got 80% worse since covid and pregnancy hormones on top! Worrying all the time. Thanks for the replies of putting my mind at ease x

Why didn't you go with pepperoni rather than Covid?

Oh Op, we have all been irrational late in pregnancy! Smile

Cooking things thoroughly will denature viruses and kill bacteria making them safe to eat. So you will be absolutely fine :)

I think that, given you have now eaten it, having covid is the least of the pizza's worries 😂

Seriously though, cooking will kill any nasties but I get the worry. I am also pregnant, someone in the shop the other day had a cough and I got irrationally angry and scared!

Not a stupid question at all.
Latest risk assessments on catching covid from food are given as 'negligible to very low, but cannot be excluded - with a wide degree of uncertainty'
And yes, cooking food thoroughly will 'kill' the virus. www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-for-consumers-on-coronavirus-covid-19-and-food/guidance-for-consumers-on-coronavirus-covid-19-and-food#:~:text=It%20is%20very%20unlikely%20that,the%20risk%20of%20illness.

If your concerns were irrational I doubt scientific bodies would be spending time and money checking these things out. Perfectly sensible thing to consider, pregnancy and health anxiety not withstanding. But I absolutely think the combination of very very low likelihood of transmission coupled with cooking means all is fine.

Yes and you can't catch covid from eating food so you're definitely safe
