Schooling Abroad, not sure what to do - advice please!

We live abroad, so not in the UK and pay for private schooling for our two daughters.

Schools are due to go back in a few weeks. The schools have stated that the education may be online fully, or half online half in school or just in school, they are unsure as of yet. My children are young and the online system here was a shambles, they really struggled to learn with it and I honestly believe the online system works better for older kids but not so much for young kids who really need the interaction. Especially since my children are trilingual and learning their studies in 2 languages that are not English, they really benefit much more from in class learning. Anyway I'm at a loss, not sure if we should pay for schooling this year and risk it may all go to online again (I'm sure this year will be waves of in school, and then online learning and no in school, then back in school - worldwide with this virus still around). Or whether we hire a private teacher for them and have her come round 3 days a week to teach them. And just keep on that path this year following the curriculum.

Thoughts?

Nobody can decide that for you. I am in Italy where it might also be half and half, we don't know yet. Our online lessons worked very well- but DD is a teenager and the head at her school is very switched on tech wise and a full timetable was up and running by 16/3.
It must be harder for younger kids though.
My personal feeling is that school is about so much more than the curriculum though. Already when (before lockdown) parents were wondering whether to send kids in , DD and I had already decided she would be going.

If you're paying for school and feel the online support didn't work then you need to give feedback to the school and talk with them about options that you feel would work better. Are they boarders or at a school near you?

If you give up your places without notice then might you struggle to get school places later? Can you agree a plan with the school and get a tutor as a reserve option? If schools are to be closed then I don't really understand why a teacher would be able to go to your house, any interaction gives a risk that someone has to isolate not just school? Will the children be allowed to play with friends?
