Would you go on an all inclusive holiday to Cypress next week?

Because this is what DH has decided we should do Angry. We were supposed to be heading to France in two days time, obviously that's no longer happening.
I'm now looking for UK alternatives, probably a combination of camping and Air B&Bs
He decided to look on the First Choice website earlier and sent me details of a lovely Holiday Village. He's spent the evening trying to convince me that it's a calculated risk blah blah blah. And now he's scowling at all my UK suggestions.

I'd bloody LOVE a week in the the sun by a pool with someone else doing the cooking. But this is not the time for it. I'm so annoyed with him for really reminding me of what I'm missing out on this year. As a family we need to get way from our house for a little while. But that's not the way to do it in the shit-pot year of 2020, is it?

I don’t think Cyprus is accepting visitors from Britain! They’ve got 2 categories
A countries can go without a covid test
B countries can go with a covid test 72 hours prior

British... aren’t in either category!

No thanks.

No because I wouldn't want to wear a mask for 5hrs on plane, plus airports either side. Not my idea of a holiday.
In contrast to the UK holiday we just had... Wearing a mask for the few minutes needed to walk across hotel...

Also Cyprus in August is too hot. We lived there for two years, and spent August in the UK.

It’s not just the quarantining on return that would put me off. What if you actually CATCH Covid? You could be seriously ill (or worse). I know it’s unlikely, but the thought of going through all the airport palaver then a fairly long flight with randoms just doesn’t appeal.

Redhair23 · 15/08/2020 13:21

It’s a fairly long flight isn’t it? I sound a bit sanctimonious but I am going to try to put money back in to the U.K. economy for the next couple of years, that and not wanting to sit a five hour flight with a mask on.

OverTheRainbow88 · 15/08/2020 13:22

Oh that must have changed!! We just postponed our trip there as we weren’t on A or B list!!!! 🙄

UK moved into Cat B for Cyprus 🇨🇾 on 1st August.
