Hospital staff - coping with heat and PPE?

Because we're not!! Bloody baking and the wards are over 30 degrees. Not allowed fans (coz of covid), masks at all times so not drinking enough, there's no respite even in the offices etc, wearing plastic aprons is just the icing on the sweaty cake 🥵.

Seriously though, I'm sick of the necessary rules being imposed but no mitigating options to help manage the situation. 2 staff members in my hospital fainted today, 1 has got quite a serious concussion from hitting her head. Both from over heating. Bring the rain.

Yup, it is tough op! I have been having migraines for a couple of weeks, I am definitely blaming the heat with the PPE.

May I ask if any of you have found anything that helps with spots on your face? Poor DH's chin looks so sore with a break out of acne from sweating so much under the masks in the heat.

Yep it's real bad. I can't remember a week worse than this. I don't suffer in heat I really like it normally but heat and PPE don't mix Sad

I actually took my mask down and had a drink at the desk. No one was around me. What are they gonna do? Sack me?

It's why I'm so anti face masks for children in school. It would be cruel imo

Me too tbh. I think so many people are happy to pop them on to go to the shops etc that they don't realise how awful it is to wear them for really long periods of time, not drink and concentrate on something important all at the same time.

Snap! But in the community where people don't like to open windows or popping the heating on! 🙄
