Been trying to work out if the death rate is rising proportionally. Does anyone have any good data?

Part of it is that younger people are now getting Covid-19 so the death rate is lower, but also there will be a time gap between testing positive and dying. In the people I've know who have died with it all except one were 3-6 weeks after testing positive.
Now I'd expect it to be quicker now as they're encouraging people to test sooner-back then it was only really if you were being admitted that you got a test, but I'd still expect there to be a lag.
