Hello
Our 2yo tested positive for Covid-19 just over three weeks ago and was hit quite hard for a few days (high temperatures, fatigue, irritation, loss of appetite) but thankfully sprung back to their chirpy self.
We do however have concerns about a lingering rash which was and is on the back of their neck and on their cheeks (initially it was on one side but now it is on both) as well as a raised lymph node in the left side of their neck which has not come down since they first tested positive.
They are otherwise quite well - though we have wondered if they were their normal self in the mornings at times - while appetite is good and temperature is normal. However, our main concern is the continued presence of the raised node and the fact that what was initially pinprick spots which faded a bit have come back a bit angrier and red.
We're aware of the way in which Covid-19 has manifested itself in some children and the syndrome of PIMS: a recovery but then a relapse of sorts into another, potentially more serious illness some weeks later.
We're in that position of a lot of parents, deciding to keep and eye on our child rather than go down the route of NHS 111, which often is the experience of talking through a checklist and then a trip to A&E. In this case our child IS apparently well but we are concerned. If anyone else had this experience with Covid-19 and a child we would be extremely grateful to hear your thoughts.
I'm attaching two photos: one shows the back of their neck today while the other shows one side of their face and, circled, you can see the raised node (the photo doesn't quite do it justice to the hard pointiness of it). I should note that the spots DO blanche and, for those wondering, we did adhere to all self isolation guidelines. Many thanks
