Sturgeon want ‘to cry’ at her own poor decision making?

Looking at entirely predictable images of young people imbibing alcohol with no social distancing following HER decision to open pubs inside and out makes Nicola Sturgeon ‘want to cry’.

How dare she.

27 confirmed cases from one bar - that’s why she’s greeting. Plus the fiasco at Soul bar - one of the 27 cases also attended Soul...

Flaxmeadow · 03/08/2020 23:38

England - 856 new cases.
Scotland - 18 new cases

Two very different countries. Different populations, ethnic diversity and population densities

TheMurk · 03/08/2020 23:43

Scotland has the third highest excess death rate in Europe.

Good work Nicola.

ButteryPuffin · 03/08/2020 23:48

has managed to convince the sheeple

Zero credibility the moment you use the word 'sheeple'.

As for you, OP, let's allow Johnson (ah, you call him Boris like he's your friend) to make all the apologies he ought to make before it's Sturgeon's turn. We'll all be dead before she gets to start.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 04/08/2020 00:03

Scotland has a very similar population to that of the south west (approx 5.5 million) but has a much higher infection and death rate

I'm not an snp supporter, but seriously? Give the woman a break! Literally. She's barely had a day off since March. She's not perfect, and this bloody pandemic is unpredictable, hard to manage, and she's torn between minimising the effects of the pandemic, the economic disaster unfolding and the emergency health crisis.
Not quite what she, or anyone ever signed up for. She's doing a good job.

Which of Boris Johnstone’s decision were you referring to in respect of lockdown/health in Scotland?

Health is entirely devolved and has been for some time, so have decisions around ventilators/PPE/Car homes etc. Lockdown decisions in Scotland are also devolved - when to lockdown/shut schools/open bars/travel etc has been down to Nicola Sturgeon not Boris. Decisions to cover up the Nike conference, discharge infected patients to care homes, inadequate purchasing of PPE, to allow people to meet inside pubs are all down to Nicola.

Ah, you have noticed her inability to delegate.

She's doing a good job.

By what measure? Certainly not by death rates. And if you discount the pandemic and consider what she asked us to judge her by - Education - she has been an abysmal failure.

I'm no fan either but I agree. I'd also extend what you've said to other world leaders and yes even Trump sometimes Blush

I'm so sick of all the sniping and political point scoring. Yes governments have made mistakes but ffs, the whining and complaining I see on my social media sometimes is not only pathetic, it's pointless. It's not going to change anything

I was a life long Labour voter but I hated Corbyn, really couldn't stand the man but if he had been our leader I would have tried to back him. Because I think in general we should back government in a time of crisis and this is a crisis, of massive proportions. As in almost a war situation as was said on ch4 tonight by a top scientist

Thisismytimetoshine · 04/08/2020 00:44

To be fair - she only said the pubs could open . She didn’t tell the idiots to go and crowd outside them like that
If she imagined they'd do anything else she must be a fucking imbecile.

Flaxmeadow · 04/08/2020 00:47

...and the nasty name calling as well

IKEA888 · 04/08/2020 00:47

no leader can completely control the people.
The police need to be more onto the poor social.dostancing issues.

When nit putvthe blame where it should be, with those people who have such little regard for others and the economy. Those small minded idiots that don't seem able to socially distance, or avoid large crowds. That's not Nicola's fault that is each individual and those that let them off with it by blaming others.
Gyms haven't reopened because there is apparently scientific evidence that exercise increases the risk of passing on the virus, mayne increased breathing? So lots of people working out in a gym may be high risk for outbreaks.
I can understand Nicola's frustration and disappointment, she has been very clear, even my 5 year old understands what is expected and why, she had to open these places but as usual selfiah people ruin it for everyone.

Notfeelinggreattoday · 04/08/2020 02:05

Boris and NS have made pretty similar decisions just at slightly different times. Its unrealistic to not of tried and opened pubs etc people do need the jobs and we do need an economy
All could happen if people just used some common sense ,i have been to a pub a couple of times for a meal and felt safe As the pubs followed the guidelines , those that arent are the problem

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/08/2020 02:16

They've managed to open bars in other countries and not have this idiocy. Are you saying that leaders of certain countries (Scotland) should all assume their countryfolk are stupider, more selfish and less capable of following simple instructions than those in other countries?

horizontilting · 04/08/2020 02:43

Boris certainly makes me want to cry.

noego · 04/08/2020 13:55

NS.
Highly political even though she says she isn't
Control freak if ever there was one
Wants and loves being the head of a nanny state.
Dropped more goolies than the UK Govt, but is not seen because no-one really watches the sessions.

Laaalaaaa · 04/08/2020 14:50

As a result of the Aberdeen cluster, numerous bars have taken the decision to close - some with no links to recently confirmed cases.
