Has anyone heard anything more about playgroups/toddler groups?
I know soft plays will probably end up going under. But haven’t heard much about playgroups.

I'm not sure but I'm absolutely desperate for our local children's centres to open up for their stay and play sessions. Poor toddler DS is an only child and it's so hard for him.

My 3 year old is signed back up to her preschool ballet class in sept whether it will physically go ahead or be another term of hit and miss zoom sessions who knows! Both mine 3 and nearly 2 do jiggly wrigglers online now it was unnatural for them at first but now they enjoy it! Other option if they don’t go already is sign them up for a couple of preschool sessions if old enough, a lot offer it by the hour (however not sure if that’s changed during covid) as at least doing that they can play with other children, mine go to the childminderonce a week and that’s the only time they play with 2 other children x

@Hileni we are in the same boat, toddler DS and only child Sad we’re thinking we will meet up with other mum friends if the worst happens and they can’t/won’t open.

@Jessuk86 yes we’ve signed DS up for nursery once a week...so I’m hoping that’ll be good for his development.

I just feel really sad about it

One of our toddler music groups has started up this week (moved from an indoor venue to a local park) and another toddler music/play class has opened bookings for August (in an indoor venue). A local ballet school will be starting up in September (they usually stop over the summer anyway), but only for ages 3+ (my dd is 2). These are all more commercial type of toddler classes (rather than the cheaper church hall playgroups - just mentioning that because the playgroups are often run by older volunteers, whereas these classes are often franchises and the younger proprieters are keen to get their business back on track as soon as possible).
DD is doing 1 morning a week in a nursery for social interaction, but it's tough for her as she was only used to doing mother and toddler classes before lockdown, so it's her first taste of being away from Mum. I'd much rather be doing stay and play activities with her, but at least she gets a chance to play with other children and with a different range of toys.
