Been out and about much more this week, returned to the office for 2 days, eaten in a restaurant, had a couple of drinks in a pub on Thursday.

Felt tired yesterday but put it down to doing a lot more than I have in months.

I feel dreadful this morning. My throat is sore and red and has little blisters / ulcers on it. I had my tonsils out years ago. My eyes are swollen and sticky and one of them has crusty yellow bits around it (sorry 😫). I also have a really sore armpit! But not sure if that is a gland or just a blocked pore or something.

I’ve checked my temp and it’s normal (37.1) and no cough but obviously concerned about the dreaded virus. Anyone have any thoughts based on the symptoms?

Hay fever ?

Motheroftwofeline · 25/07/2020 08:59

That’s a good shout actually...thinking about it now the runny eyes came on yesterday but I put it down to contact lenses.

Perhaps I’ll try a piriton and see if that improves things.

My hay fever is through the roof at the moment, try an anti histamine first.

Motheroftwofeline · 25/07/2020 09:03

Thank you both for reassuring my panic!! Just checked and pollen count is fairly high in the area and pollution is too (ah..the days of lockdown and fresh air)

Tbh it’s not the thought of the virus that scares me as much as having to contact everyone I’ve been in contact with this week after months of pretty much isolation!

For goodness sake just get a test!!! Like everyone should with any symptoms Confused

GreenPlum · 25/07/2020 09:29

These aren't the most common covid symptoms so it's unlikely.

Testing only indicated if you have either a fever, a new continuous cough or loss of sense of smell or taste.

GreenPlum · 25/07/2020 09:30

I hope you feel better soon.

orangejuicer · 25/07/2020 09:33

worried you have to meet the criteria to order a test. On the face of things OP does not.

Hope you feel better OP. Keep an eye on things in case anything does develop and you need a test.

Motheroftwofeline · 25/07/2020 09:44

The debate happening above was the one I was having with myself this morning!

I don’t have fever, lack of taste or smell of a cough.

Bathed my eyes with optrex and sipping iced water for throat. Piriton kicking in as I now feel sleepy again!

Will report back, thanks for all your help

You don't always have to have the generic Covid symptoms for it to be Covid, so getting a test wouldn't be such a bad idea if Piriton isn't helping.
Hope you feel better soon!!

chatterbugmegastar · 25/07/2020 09:49

Let us know how you are later. Did the antihistamine work?

Orangeblossom78 · 25/07/2020 09:49

You don't have to meet criteria you can just order one online. And yes sore throat can be a symptom. Not always cough etc. Might set your mind at rest to have a test

Orangeblossom78 · 25/07/2020 09:50

Is fatigue usual with hay fever? and the throat? I don't have it so not sure

Motheroftwofeline · 25/07/2020 14:48

Update - both eyes and throat MUCH better after a single piriton! Downside - it’s a drowsy one so I don’t feel like doing much but napping. But a relief.

Yes it can be. Hay fever sounds quite mild but it can be bloody miserable. I've been up for an hour with a cracking head and drowning in snot. Oh the fun side of summer!

Orangeblossom78 · 26/07/2020 11:37

OK thanks, DS has it and just wondered, he had red eyes with it.

orangejuicer · 27/07/2020 08:03

orangeblossom ah I was only going by the criteria in Wales, or how I'd interpreted it anyway!

ChristmasinJune · 27/07/2020 08:19

worried you have to meet the criteria to order a test. On the face of things OP does not.

Which area is this? Does it vary between areas? Here (North West England) you can just book online, they ask if you have "symptoms" you tick yes and away you go.... nobody checks this, it's up to you.
So if anybody feels even slightly unwell then I'd advise a test, just to be on the safe side 🤷‍♂️

MrsCollinssettled · 27/07/2020 08:31

In England you don't need to have symptoms to get tested. My employer insists on staff getting a test before returning to work regardless of what illness you were off work with.

orangejuicer · 27/07/2020 17:49

Sorry if I worried anyone. I think I was incorrect!!
