Am meant to be flying to Spain in a couple of weeks, have made a couple of fabric masks (same pleated design as surgical masks but made from layered cotton) they have a pocket to put an extra filter in. Does anyone know what can be used inside to act as a filter?

Baking paper? How would you breathe through that?

Anyone got any links to any U.K. made brands? The one that comes up on amazon with bad English/spelling doesn’t fill me with hope that I’m not stick asbestos next to my face.
Or anyone got any washable/filter mask recommendations?

I got masks from here and they sell filters separately too

I use J-Cloths in my fabric masks...Cheap and washable ! The idea is that the filter layer shouldn't have holes in it. I'm not sure whether J-cloths meet that criterion.

@Worriedmum999

I read about an experiment that was done online and Henry Hoover bags came out top for filtering power.. Someone started a rumour there was fibreglass in them but the manufacturers debunked it! So we use those.

I also read about that experiment. However, in the article I read, they advised not using hoover bags as chemicals are used in the manufacture of them. Things like coffee fillters and paper towel are food safe so fine to breath through.
