Its always stated as masks on this forum but is the law masks or face coverings? Can I get away using hubbies cycling bluff?

Taken directly from gov guidance released today "Under the new regulations laid today, members of the public will need to wear face coverings – for example, a fabric covering, scarf or bandana – that covers the nose and mouth"

I’m in Scotland, it’s face coverings, not masks. You can use a scarf, a homemade mask, a buff, a disposable shop bought mask etc. It does not need to be medical grade.

Thanks very much.

I wore buffs but I started to find them hot round the back of the neck so bought face ones but buffs are OK.

I find a mask cooler and less restrictive than a cycling buff, too sweaty round the neck. Maybe a better option in the winter months.
