Help with finding guidance

I've googled this but I can't find the correct guidance (if there is any).

DH is a chef and has gone back to work just over a week ago. Another member of the team has began self-isolating due to symptoms but I don't think they've had test results back yet.
On Monday the possibly infected team member worked with other people, they are socially distancing as much as possible and wearing shields and masks. One of these people is now working with DH so in my opinion stands a chance of having come into contact with the virus. To me it would have made sense for all potentially exposed people to self-isolate rather than continue to work with other people. What's the official line on this?

Here? Essentially no one else needs to do anything unless they have symptoms, or are contacted by tests and trace if the colleague gets a positive.

If they are operating with social distancing and PPE, they won't come under the criteria for T&T I don't think.

OP says the workers are socially distancing "as much as possible" which implies that social distancing is not possible all the time.

It's recognised and accepted that social distancing is not always possible in some workplaces.

Thanks everyone. I've calmed down a bit. No social distancing isn't always possible. It's a small kitchen and they are all quite close to each other. He says it's a postal test that he's waiting on so they should know in a few days. DH had been getting second or third hand information. I suggested he message the person who is isolating, he doesn't have symptoms but has been in contact with someone who has.
