If someone comes over, cleans their hands properly on arrival, doesn’t sneeze or cough then leaves and at the time they were over has corona virus... would you not get the virus?

If they have the live virus, I understand they can spread it through breathing. How close where you?

LilMissRe · 19/07/2020 12:55

So many variables to consider
How heavy is their breathing?
How close are you two in terms of physical proximity?

Them washing their hands protects the surfaces they since touch and their own faces, but the items of clothing they wear may have the virus on them lets say, so hugging them, or holding their jacket may risk the virus getting picked up by your hands, then possibly, to your face if you touch it. Or whatever touches their items of clothing may harbour the virus for some time which you may then inadvertently pick up.

Gosh it’s a mind-field! This hasn’t actually happened to me, well not that I know if, was just wondering why it’s now allowed to go into others houses and if it was risky or not! Thank you.

Well I mean that's why we're technically not supposed to be in each others houses...because you likely would get it ?

OverTheRainbow88 · 19/07/2020 13:57

In England two households are are allowed into each other’s houses at one time.
So I could have my parents over in the morning and then my sister and her household over in the afternoon. Just not more than one other household at the same time!

This is why I'm not seeing anyone inside, and only using the toilet if desperate and cleaning well. I'm a teacher and will not see my elderly parents unless it is outside; I could be asymptomatic (as I was seeing over 70 students in a day), breathe near them and they catch it. As it appears to be airbourne inside is a massive problem.

Not necessarily. My mum had it and my dad, who was her carer, never caught it.
