i seem to be the only one washing my hands.
they think wiping down equipment is OTT
they think the prospect of a couple of hours sharing a computer screen will be alright

i am worried come autumn/winter with the lack of ventilation.

I was in Aldi yesterday and NOBODY was taking it seriously. Large groups of family shopping together and yelling across the aisles to each other with no thought about the droplets they will be expelling.

I think I have been to that Aldi! Angry
glad to be wearing a mask, and having mainly online shopping

You can't control other people unfortunately. My partner is a supervisor in a huge factory. They had to get their covid measures signed off by PHE as they employ so many and they were praised for extensive measures. They all get two n95 masks a day and not allowed to take off inside other than eating, they wear goggles anyway, all 2 metres apart on production line with screens, staggered lunches where they all have their own booth to eat in, employed extra cleaners, sanitising stations, one way systems, no air con... Yet last week some idiot turned up with symptoms, tested positive and now there's been an outbreak. Sadly there will always be people who dont take it seriously. All you can do is take measures to protect yourself.

As far as work bubbles, it depends a bit on the work place. Small companies (under 10 staff) can set up in such a way if nobody is particularly vulnerable and they trust each other not to be taking lots of risks - I've shared a screen etc but I trust my colleague and vice versa. Larger sized companies could work with team bubbles but it's so much harder to control shared resources so kettles, photocopiers etc become a bigger issue, plus as highlighted, one person making a poor decision could impact many.

You need to speak to your manager. They should have new updated covid secure risk assessments and all staff should be familiar with them. You can report your employer to HSE if they're flouting goverment guidelines. Some info for employees here> www.unison.org.uk/coronavirus-rights-work/social-distancing-workplace/
