Am I being too cautious

My cousin is visiting our home town today and wants my self and ds to meet her and her partner in my mums garden this afternoon. Mum has a bit of outdoor shelter but it is promising rain. My mum is in my bubble but I know for an absolute that my cousin and her partner have not been socially distancing at all (think garden party with 10 hugging and kissing and dancing). Im wary to visit due to lack of space and the fact my ds is on the asd spectrum and finds remembering the rules difficult in the moment. Would you go?

Is there anywhere else you could meet, go for a walk or something instead? I personally wouldn't go if you couldn't ensure distancing, who knows what else the friends they have been kissing and hugging have been doing if they think garden parties are acceptable right now. I would arrange to do something different where you can distance a bit better. But that is my personal opinion and I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me on it!

I would go because I also haven't been distancing but I can tell from your message that you are clearly very concerned. If you weren't, you wouldn't have posted here asking

So, if I were you I think I wouldn't. I'm unsure how much you'd enjoy the meeting as I feel you would be on edge the whole time, and I wonder if you would stress afterwards that you could have caught something.

I don't really think it's much risk and I think you'd be fine if you did, but, if it's going to cause you stress then I don't know how worth it it would be.

Personally I wouldn't, but I am on the cautious side. I'm not hiding away, but find meting people e.g. for a walk feels better than in homes or gardens, somehow, probably to do with shared rights over public spaces - meaning I wander off if people edge near me!

It's not really about whether I would go, I'm not in your situation, if you don't feel comfortable then don't go. How would you feel if everyone here told you to go and the extremely unlikely thing happened and you caught the virus?

We all need to be responsible for our own choices and the consequences.
