Scottish school guidance

I see Scotland have released some guidance for schools (primary and secondary). Children not matter their age do not need to social distances but adults need to keep 2m apart from each other and the children. Where this is not possible masks are to be worn (if contact is 15mins or more). This seems a sensible approach and I think it needs to be added to the English guidance. Any thoughts?

At my dc primary school they have said teachers will teach from the front of the class 2m and stood up. Where they need to do individual or group learning then the teacher will wear a visor

Seems very sensible

I wish they’d make this compulsory here!

Seems no difference in practice, other than for children with special needs and their 1:1 teaching assistants. There should never be an instance of a teacher being within 2 meters of the same child for more than 15 minutes as this would mean the rest of the class being neglected for long periods.

Classrooms can be quite small so however they are configured the front row is often less than 2m away from the teacher. Also with small group teaching you are very likely be less than 2m away.
Visors should be used in England as well as Scotland. A reduction in risk however small is better than nothing.

How about Nurseries? Or reception, children are all over the place there.

It seems very sensible but is our infection rate not much lower?
