Pub staff handling glasses /plates

I really would like to go out to the pub or a restaurant a) to socialise and b) to support my local businesses but can't get my head round staff serving my drinks and/or food. How often are they required to wash/sanitise their hands? How are other people coping with this?

other things they've done - uniforms need to be clean each shift & can't be worn to or from work. They've created more changing rooms (social distancing). The staff canteen is no longer serve yourself - covered plates are sent out directly from the kitchen - staff have individual socially distanced tables & breaks are staggered more. Bubbles of staff (lots live onsite) so they don't mix at work or socially

Obviously staff have to handle plates and glasses but I would like to know that they wash their hands in between each customer. I'm against throw away plastic too. I think for me, it's too early as many people are asymptomatic.

It has been nearly 20 years since I worked in a pub but even back then you NEVER touched the rim of a glass before giving it to a customer. The top third of the glass should only be touched by the customer.

Any server holding a glass by the rim needs a formal warning it is disgusting. Probably safer now than when we were handling cash while waiting for your pint to settle and topping it up though!

Well proper trained staff will only handle the bottom 3rd or the glass and hands won't go anywhere near the rim, this is how the brewery train you.

Glasses all go though a dishwasher inside down and placed on shelf upside down, staff should lift from base and pull pint only holding the base
