£1000 per employee to keep people on after furlough

This government seriously concerns me. There is no common sense at all. A company who has decided to get rid of someone to save the £20k a year salary is not going to be tempted by a one-off payment of a grand. And companies that were going to keep furloughed staff on anyway will also get this bonus £1k per employee. If you furloughed 100 staff that's £100k Confused Sounds pretty hare-brained to me. Why don't they use the money for something useful like scrapping the parking fees for NHS staff instead?

Bunch of bastards!

I'd definitely try ACAS.

I understand you Don't want to work for them anymore, but they might be able to help you get some compensation?

ACAS said I need to follow the formal grievance procedure but I don't know what that is. I asked my line manager for it on Monday and she's asked HR but nobody has got back to me yet.

I haven't got a direct way of contacting HR as they're in another location miles away from me. When I rang head office, they said it has to go through my line manager.

Did you check your original contract paperwork? A copy might be in there. Good luck with it!

There's definitely no cap. Primark are being reported as rejecting the £30m they're due to receive. William Hill to do the same too. Not sure how much they're in line for.
