Can year 6 all go to the park after the last day of school?

On the last day of year 6, normally all the children go to the park to celebrate. Can we still do this given that the numbers, including parents, will be over 30. The children will all be from the same school bubble.

^^risk not ride!

In a few weeks, those year 6 children will be in bubbles of 260 or something at secondary school.

And just a few weeks ago people were only allowed out of their home for the four essential reasons. By that reasoning there should never have been a lockdown because the situation would one day change.

This is an evolving situation and the guidance for schools is based on the best guesses of what would be safe-enough in 8 weeks time. Not what is safe-enough now. And it carries the proviso that this might not be the case either nationally, or in some areas.

Ultimately, your decision whether or not to go against the guidance which is there to protect us all.
Just cross your fingers that it is someone else's loved ones who suffer??

It will be against the law to gather in groups larger than 30 people, except for a limited set of circumstances to be set out in law gov website regarding gatherings FYI (to those saying 6)

It’s against the law to gather in groups of more than 30.

The guidance requests not gathering in groups of more than 6.

So it depends what weight you place on following the guidance.

As other posters have mentioned, it wouldn’t be permitted. I kmow the children are at school together in a bubble but the scientists have said before the main risk in this type of thing is the parents and the potential of transmission in that way

No one can stop you but don't complain when the parks and schools are shut again.

labyrinthloafer · 06/07/2020 18:15

Well no they are not supposed to but people just do what the hell they like!

I think it is an irresponsible thing to do but people will do what they do.

Just take them to Bournemouth beaches and have done.

Our infant school wants to have a socially distanced picnic in the park for each year. They struggle to cope with social distancing and several members of the class‘s families have been breaking the rules for weeks.

I know the former from running into those in school on a walk (We kepy metres away to pass and say hi) and The latter from seeing families out and mixing up close repeatedly and sharing posts in pubs etc. As I’m vulnerable I really don’t want to take the risk but feel like they’re trying to force us into it. I also feel bad if my kids miss out.
