Should I have a test?!

I have hayfever and allergy asthma. So I'm coughing and have shortness of breath, wheezing etc.

Yesterday I also had diarrhoea. Which I'd not realised could be a symptom until I read an article hayfever vs covid symptoms.

I'm pretty sure it's just my asthma and an IBD flare up but then I'm also thinking what if its not?!

I'm torn between not wasting resources and not putting others at risk.

What to do?

If you have a cough, get a test. There is no shortage of tests so no need to worry! It’s far more sensible to get one of you have one of the main symptoms! It probably is just your asthma but better to be safe & not risk infecting those around you.

If you go to a test centre, results are back really quickly at the mo. Mine was 12 hours! But they say up to 48. Home tests are slower as they need to be dispatched, posted, arrived, picked up, dropped off etc!

Have a COVID-19 test. You are not wasting resources. You would bevprotecting others if you do have the virus.

My understanding is that there is no longer a shortage of testing capacity, so it's good if as many people as possible who have symptoms get tested. If you have symptoms, getting tested is not a waste of resources. It could save many lives.

Ah that's reassuring to know there's not a shortage or stretch of services regarding testing. Thank you.

In that case I shall arrange a test. It will set my mind at rest if nothing else.
