Do you ever think that life will never be quite the same, not in a doom and gloom way, just different?

It's difficult to put quite into words what is more of a feeling.

Something feels that things will never quite be how they were, not because we will ne ever get back to normal, but because the pandemic has perhaps changed your outlook.

For example dh and I have been having the same takeaway from the same place for years. The place closed during lockdown, and when they reopened it just wasn't the same. We'd got so used to not having it.

Walking, I've always liked walking but I've found a real joy in walking in my local park, obviously because there isn't much else to do. But I've really grown to love and appreciate it more than ever.

Some other things like just browsing round Asda on my day off, I've got a newfound appreciation for this small pleasure.

It's like things that I enjoyed before I don't think I want to go back to but things I took for granted feel so great now.

I get what you mean. I dont think a lot of things in my life will go back to how they were before.

The business I work for was quite old fashioned in its view of home working and we have masses of offices round the uk that are huge. One desk per person, no home working. They have been shocked at how fine things have been with everyone working from home. I cant see me ever doing 5 days a week in the office again. Maybe 2 or 3 with the rest at home. I think they will downsize their office footprints and encourage people to mix up how they work week to week.

A lot of businesses will do this I think, meaning if one or more members of a household are mixing home working and office working many 2 car households could become 1 if only one person is commuting, meaning less traffic.

Also I would maybe reconsider my gym membership. Running locally and buying some weights and doing home workouts has been fine. I don't need to drive to and from a gym and spend money on a membership every month.

We visited a local fruit and veg stall during lockdown as we found buying in bulk meat to freeze and tins was fine once a month and then we just needed to top up with fruit and veg. It was cheaper and fresher. Will probably do this rather than weekly super market shops.

Taking things a bit slower has been heaven in lockdown. Not rushing from work to gym to socializing to the next thing and being out the house 12/13 hours a day I hope never to go back to

I hope that lots of things will get better in terms of all the healthcare issues that are being looked into now. Why do Bame people have more tendency to kidney disease, diabetes etc? Is blood type a factor in disease? Things we can learn from antivirals, vaccine development are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head.

Hopefully people were already more likely to buy electric cars etc.
