Would you trust staying in self catering place once they reopen?

Just wondering when places reopen people would feel safe staying in a caravan /hotel room etc?
Haven/Butlins and cheap hotel rooms they have a time limit to clean each rooms/caravan
Travelodge used to be 20 mins per room this was years ago but with pressure to clean quickly how confident would you be staying in a place that everything has been cleaned and all surfaces cleaned?

Is anyone else concerned about this?

Seems bizarre they talking of opening up self catering places but no mention of stepping foot in your families house with less risk from strangers and contaminated surfaces

Yes. Can't wait to be off. If I were that paranoid I'd stay at home.

MsMeNz · 22/06/2020 18:52

Honestly, I would stay but I'd take my own pillows or liner and covers. And I'd spray handles with disinfectant. But that about it. Not sure I can deal with the though of stranger drool leaking through their pillow cases under the circumstances. But yeah we have stuff booked for August and looking forward to it.

Yup can't wait and it actually never occurred to me to be worried.

All being well DH and I are going for a self catering break by the sea in mid July.
Wild horses wouldn't stop me frankly! I'm bored of being at home.

The difference between someone's home is that people live there and are not moving out and taking their personal belongings with them. I know people who own a hotel and another who has holiday lets. They have a long list of what they need to do - remove surplus cushions (or cover them and wash between guests), cleaning routines and sanitising everything. The hotel is spotless anyway and certainly gives more than 20 minutes per room!
So yes I would stay with confidence.

@AppleKatie ah, thank you. I was thinking it was an aerosol spray you could spray into the air. Ok, I understand Dettol spray.

My car needs servicing and the garage has offered a “fogging” which apparently fills the car with an anti Viral fog treatment. would something like that be effective in a self catering place?

AppleKatie · 22/06/2020 19:46

No idea sorry- but that sounds like overkill to me.

I will feel happier staying in a self catering cottage type place than a hotel/travel inn.
