And missing learning, and falling behind, and worried about not having time to home educate and those that feel they are "failing" their DC.

This may make you feel better. It was an article that was shown to me when we started home educating way back when we did. (DC now back in school, well, were before CV!)

You got this :)

TLDR; 51 minutes a day is fine - and all they actually get at school! So don't compare to those who say they are doing eleventy billion hours of work.

Caveat: this is a primary school, NOT secondary.

The attainment isn't a worry at all. They will catch up if they do go back in September.

The mental health and lack of seeing their friends is the main worry and the lack of exercise.

whilst there are some good points in that article I would have to say I home educated my children for 3 years. This current situation is NOTHING like that. We did loads with a very active home educaitng group locally, we met up for play, science workshops, at local nature rerves for days with the rangers, art groups, drama groups, football, athletics, ice skating etc... It was hard work (although I felt a positive expereince)ensuring all the children's emotional and social needs were met even aside from any concerns about educaitonal concerns.
Nothing like that is currenly possible. At all. Not to mention all the families where parents are trying to juggle it all with full time work.....
