When will mum and baby groups start up again?

Sorry if there has already been a thread on this. Currently on maternity leave with my DS who is almost 6 months old. I know in the grand scheme of things it's not really a priority, but am wondering if anyone has heard of any mum and baby groups starting back up in their area? I know it's not the end of the world but I am a bit sad to be missing out on them, and wondering if they'll be reinstated before he gets too big for a lot of the groups.

Baby groups could probably open soon. As in ones which cater only to babies under 1, because you just sit the mums 2m apart and the babies stay with them. So things like baby sensory or baby massage

Toddler groups are a different matter- lots of kids playing in a big group would be impossible to do in a socially distanced way. I am hoping that more evidence will emerge that children are low risk of catching and transmitting the virus, thus allowing groups like this to open. But I think it will be at least September before they have that sort of evidence available.

Another mum in lockdown,I have a 3 week old and feeling sad that I can't take her anywhere. Fed up of children and women getting screwed by this Government who prioritize the wrong things x

One of the toddler classes has started outdoor sessions already but with limited numbers. It's a singing/dancing/music/puppet type class. We're in south London.

I think groups for newborns could get going outside but traditional toddler, older baby classss will be much harder. They just can’t social distance and slobber over the toys. I took my 15m old with me to meet a friend in the park and she was so excited to see another child her age. She’s not really left the house other than for local walks and it really brought home to me that even the little ones are missing out on an aspect of their development. I’d been saying all the way through she was not affected by lockdown as the effects have been more obvious with my older one but I think there will be a longer-term impact on social skills if babies and toddler can’t get back to normality soon.

I help run a baby/toddler group at my church and I’m really hoping we can open in September. We’re term time only so wouldn’t be open anyway in summer hols. As far as I can tell it is legal with certain restrictions (eg adults wearing face masks) www.eyalliance.org.uk/nurseries-childminders-reopen-coronavirus-lockdown

We may have to reduce numbers and ditch the teas and coffees (sad times). The church is being deep cleaned anyway. As for toys, the group only runs once a week so they’re being quarantined for way more than 72 hours in between sessions.

Just got to convince the church leadership that it’s worth the risk. I think for many parents and carers, especially those who don’t have great mental health/support networks/adequate space at home, they are an absolute lifeline....

End of September for some. I have a little lockdown baby after fighting with infertility for 4 years. It’s been an interesting start to motherhood that’s for sure. Been doing the zoom classes and from that I have two courses of face to face classes starting end of September. Can’t wait
