Kids go back to school if they aren’t doing all of their online school?

I have heard that this is happening in a particular school. If your child doesn’t do all their work they will have a week or so to improve or be sent back to school! But there could be a good reason why they aren’t doing it, e.g mental health, family issues, not having the all the proper equipment. Opinions?

I guess it comes under vulnerable kids if they dont have the tech to do it or parents around to make them do it

A parent is around, but happens to have a full time job. I don't think that makes my child vulnerable, it makes him need to be in school to learn.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for those who’ve pushed themselves to the edge of sanity, by working 15 hours a day to cover both their job plus hours of homeschool.

I would argue that this situation is an issue for that person's employer, who has not acknowledged their staff have no childcare.

That certainly won’t happen in my school-we are using all available teachers and classrooms.

Wow I'm shocked at the nasty tone some people use when talking about children. Shame on you. There are lots of reasons some children have been offered school places at the moment. Usually because there is some difficulties at home. These poor children need some extra help.

Well if that is to be the case I will most definitely be telling my DC to stop doing any work so they can get a place at school

I was thinking the same! Surely if they like school and want to go back, that's the way to get back!
