Would you go home in this situation?

I have been signed off work due to severe depression and stress. I would dearly love to go to my parents for a bit in the countryside; my mother has demanded I pack a bag and come to them (she's threatened to drive down and get me if I don't!). I mentioned this to my doctor today, and she said that might be a good idea.

But I'm not sure if I'm allowed? The restrictions say no staying overnight at a house that's not yours unless there's an exception, but I can't find what those exceptions are.

I live in London in a (largely empty at the moment) houseshare. I have my own bathroom here. My parents house is a decent size and I'd have my own bathroom there (my room is actually on a separate floor to the rest of the house).

I work from home and have not been anywhere except to our local supermarket or for a walk.

I have fabric masks and plenty of hand gel I can use on a train. I can't imagine a non-rush-hour train will be busy tomorrow.

Is it ok to go home? I could really use the support at the moment. I'm pretty isolated right now.

Absolutely go lovie!! I hope you’re on the road today to your parents... you take care of yourself and well done for keeping going. Putting one foot forward and reaching out for help is so hard. Stay well xx

I would go, in your position.

I hope the time off and some TLC from your parents helps. I was signed off years ago with severe depression, and it made a huge difference. I slept an astonishing amount during that time. Being depressed is exhausting. Be gentle with yourself.
