Will we have to wear masks at the hairdressers?

Or will just the hairdressers be wearing them? Wondering if I should buy a mask for this reason.

If I can get 2 inches chopped I'll happily wear one! Got some thick cloth ones that don't make my glasses steam up 👍

@PinkSparklyPussyCat I assume because the virus could possibly be lurking in an area which cannot be cleaned so easily. As it meant I could have my hair cut and coloured several weeks ago, whereas in the Uk it is not possible, removing rings etc was a small price to pay1

I'd imagine it's for the same reason that you wouldn't see a surgeon or other HCP wearing jewellery - it means you can't wash your hands thoroughly enough.

YounghillKang · 15/06/2020 22:48

Why on earth would you have to remove rings and bracelets? That seems like overkill.

Yes also the materials that a lot of jewellery made from are hard to disinfect. Read an article about fashion shops reopening and the problems they will have selling jewellery because of possible infection risk.

Also seems when washing or disinfecting hands, stuff gets under it and can be a breeding ground for germs. I wear a lot of rings so was a bit gobsmacked when read about what a problem they pose.

Like BigChoc I am in Germany - different area, though - I got rid of my Shetland pony look a few weeks ago - we wore masks and I disinfecetd my hands, she wore gloves - chair etc. wiped down afterwards.

She has to keep a list of her customers + dates to be kept for four weeks then shredded - unless a case occurs when she'll have to hand the list over to the health authorities.
As I book via an app my adress is known anyway.

Lol such overkill.
